As we develop cutting edge technologies this role is focused on working with the R&D team to think earlier in the process on how we would design and produce the part(s). In this role you will: research, analyze, designs, and test innovative manufacturing techniques and technologies to develop and enhance core products. You will develop and recommend solutions for complex projects to ensure design objectives are achieved. Applying engineering principles relevant to advanced manufacturing domains (e.g., additive manufacturing, automation, materials science, brazing/welding) you will be instrumental in fulfilling our mission: 'Enabling Engineering Breakthroughs that Lead to a Better Tomorrow.' Your day-to-day / What we are expecting from you / Your responsibilities + Product Specification Development: Develop conceptual and detailed product specifications by analyzing performance and customer requirements, investigating design factors such as functionality, materials, and cost, and creating preliminary designs based on customer input. + Scientific Analysis and Testing: Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict design outcomes, validate test results, and recommend product qualification procedures to ensure reliability and safety standards. + Technical Documentation and Collaboration: Provide technical information and documentation for product engineering teams, including writing procedures, reports, and proposals, while contributing to project milestones and reviewing detailed drawings and specifications. + Continuous Improvement and Mentorship: Review product specifications for compliance and clarity, identify design deficiencies, and recommend improvements while maintaining technical knowledge through education and mentoring new employees.
