Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs. This position is intended to convey to the new, independent company, to be named Solstice Advanced Materials when the separation occurs. This is expected to occur in late 2025 or early 2026. As an **R&D Engineer/Scientist II** , you will be accountable for conducting research and development activities in line with the organization's goals and objectives. You will utilize your technical expertise to design and conduct experiments, simulations, and analyses to drive the development of new technologies and products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions and shape the future of the company. Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S. **YOU MUST HAVE** + 6+ years of experience performing research and development projects within a technology or manufacturing environment + Strong background in areas such as materials science, electronics, sensors, controls, or related fields + Proven track record of technical guidance and project management **WE VALUE** + BE/BS in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, or related field with 1-5 years experience in package development of solid oral packaging formats and materials for semi-rigid (thermoform) and flexible formats. Advanced experience with Solid Works design software desired. + Experience designing, developing, and managing testing methodologies and plans to support shelf life experiments, barrier analysis and permeation characteristics of multiple packaging formats used to contain solid oral dose, oral and topical liquids, topical powders, sterile and other related formats. + Demonstrated knowledge of stability testing, assays, Barrier Testing (MOCON / OXTRAN) and other related barrier and package test methods is essential. + Hands-on design and development experience in development of packaging formats and processes combined with demonstrated trouble shooting skills with proven ability to diagnose customer needs/pain points and apply "problem solving” skills to identify root cause and corrective action plans. + Demonstrated knowledge of semi-rigid and flexible packaging manufacturing processes, Statistical Process Control, Methods of Evaluation, Tolerance Analysis, Validation and Approval. + General knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging / filling / capping / labeling / equipment for solid dose, liquids, powders, sterile and non-sterile packaging lines with am emphasis on thermoforming and liquid filling packaging systems. + History of Cross functional team participation with an emphasis on interfacing with all levels of Marketing, R&D, Engineering, Regulatory, Purchasing, Analytical and Global Manufacturing. + Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to cultivate and develop trusting relationships and maintain professionalism in the face of conflict. + Working knowledge of the Regulatory environment and submission guidelines for new drug product registration process including ICH stability guidelines. Familiarity with FDA, EMEA & Japanese Regulatory requirements relating to package design and selection for pharmaceutical products. + Ability to apply statistical analysis to evaluate data with hands on Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience.
