R&d Engineering Technician
Hiring for an R&D Engineering Technician in East Hartford!

Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to provide hands-on testing support to the Materials Process Engineering team. This role supports engineers in a large development group, focusing on metallography, equipment and test operations, and documentation. CAD skills are essential as the team evaluates materials for engine parts design. The job involves 60% testing in a lab and analyzing samples, and 40% documentation in Excel.

ResponsibilitiesReceive and execute work requests from engineers.Locate and prepare material samples for analysis, including cutting, mounting, and polishing.Conduct various tests such as image analysis, heat treating, and other engineering statistics.Document results and maintain extensive data records in Excel.Utilize microscopes and scanning electron microscopes for detailed analysis.Prepare detailed reports in MS Word or PowerPoint.Essential SkillsDegree in Engineering, Physics, or an Associate's Degree.Internship or 6+ months experience in a manufacturing or lab environment.Proficiency in Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with SAP, new product development, and technical documentation.Advanced degree or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.Experience with NDE, measurement/instrumentation, and design is preferred.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in production and overhaul environments.Work Environment

This role requires onsite work 5 days a week, with flexible start times between 5 AM and 6 AM or later. The position is located in Building D near the badging area. The dress code is business casual, and safety shoes are mandatory and can be expensed. The job offers a long duration of 36 months, with potential for permanent employment after 12 months. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
