Purpose of Role:
Join a dynamic team developing early-stage technologies for next-generation Weir ESCO products. This role involves designing, integrating, and launching advanced systems – combining steel castings and fabrications, embedded sensors, machine vision, and AI – for use in mining, construction, and industrial sectors. You’ll manage multiple priorities and contribute through both project support and leadership.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with research, testing, or product development

Advanced degree (Master's or PHD) is preferred

Experience contributing to or leading a project team to validate selected concepts. Develop scope, timeline, and budget for project, manage tasks to ensure deliverables are met, and complete documentation per process and standard work

Advanced understanding of engineering principles associated with mechanical design

Experienced with Computer Aided 3D Modeling and Finite Element Analysis

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate advanced technical issues

Demonstrated creativity and innovation in the development of new products and the optimization of processes and controls
