As an R&D Engineer, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of Optics Network Management applications, enabling efficient network configuration, fault supervision, and performance monitoring.  You will design and develop applications using Java Enterprise platforms, Spring MVC, Kafka/Zookeeper, and work with relational databases and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate). Your expertise in OTN, DWDM, SDH/SONET, Ethernet, and GMPLS transport protocols will be valuable in delivering high-quality software solutions. Strong problem-solving skills, self-organization, and a never-give-up attitude will help you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in English communication and familiarity with containerization (Docker) are added advantages for this role.

You Have:

Bachelor degree with 4 to 8 years of experience in Optics. Good domain knowledge of OTN, DWDM, SDH/SONET, Ethernet, and GMPLS transport protocols. Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java Enterprise platforms. Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (Spring MVC). Hands-on experience with the Spring framework, Kafka, and Zookeeper.

It would be nice if you also had:

Profound insight into Java and JEE internals. Good knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate). Familiarity with containerization – Docker is a value add. Optics Network Management applications help users control the network’s configuration, fault supervision, and performance monitoring.  Works on Optics Division products like Photonic/WDM, Optical Transport, and SDH/SONET. These applications interface with Network Elements, provide a user-friendly interface, and implement algorithms for easier management and OPEX reduction. They are deployed worldwide in hundreds of installations, serving both large and small customers. The Software Development Engineer will join the Development team to enhance applications and improve customer satisfaction.
