This Position reports to:

Chapter Leader - Electromechanical Design

 

Your role and responsibilities

As part of the Power Protection team, you will be in charge of creating and evaluating the design of equipment, systems, or installations, including specifications for manufacturing and fabrication. In this role, you will utilize your extensive skills and technical expertise to generate mechanical design project requirements, design, and test to meet those requirements, document your design, and participate in cost reduction and coordination with other technical teams within our Power Protection business.

This role is contributing to the Smart Power business in Quartino (Switzerland).

You will be mainly accountable for:

Contributing to mechanical design and documentation for new or enhanced power protection equipment, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Working cross-functionally to meet customer expectations, project requirements, and deliver designs on time.

Leading the design, release, and improvement of mechanical prototypes, supporting fabrication and iteration based on feedback.

Driving product design improvements to reduce cost, while maintaining quality and facilitating ongoing product maintenance.

Qualifications for the role

University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Proficient in solid modeling CAD design software (e.g., Creo), with knowledge of sheet metal design, part and assembly drawings, and design for manufacturing.

Strong collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Experience with thermal and structural evaluation, PLM software, and interpreting electrical safety standards (UL/IEC); project management and manufacturing experience a plus.

Fluency in English.
