Job Description Avery Dennison is looking for an R&D electroforming technician for our Reflective Solutions business based in North America. You will be an important contributor to a fast growing business that is a leading manufacturer of life saving innovative reflective solutions that make the world's roadways safer. In this role, you will work with experienced electroformers to be able to lead and support electroforming work. You will also learn to make test measurements to support the electroforming operation and other R&D areas.  You will report to our Electroplating Manager and will be based at our location in Niles, IL. To be successful, you should have an aptitude for work with your hands, creativity, and a strong attention to details.  You should be proactive in applying your problem solving skills. This role is from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Fridays. Responsibilities: - Maintain R&D electroforming tanks, including but not limited to chemical maintenance, anode adds, anode basket maintenance, filter changes, etc. to ensure process stability and repeatability - Perform bath analysis and stress measurement to ensure the part quality - Prepare and inspect parts prior to electroforming - Set-up and run electroforming processes - Able to report and learn to troubleshoot general issues in electroplating processes - Separate and inspect parts after electroforming processes - Collect accurate test data using properly calibrated analytical equipment such as thickness gauges, photometers, etc. - Work with R&D team to deliver electroformed parts with good optical quality in a timely manner to meet project timelines  - Work in a collaborative environment, engaging with R&D engineers and technicians - Assist when needed in other areas of electroforming group and the whole R&D department Safety: - Follow all health and safety procedures, policies, protocols and practices of Avery Dennison - Practice excellent housekeeping.  Maintain a clean and organized work area - Attend all required safety trainings Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent.  A technical degree or certificate in a related field is preferred.  - 2-3 years of nickel electroforming or electroplating experience is highly preferred - Experience in anodizing, PVD, e-coating, and electropolishing is a plus - Basic knowledge of chemistry and mathematics  - Proficiency in Google tools, MS Excel is a plus - Good communication skills - Reliable: arrive on time and meet deadlines - Able to collaborate and engage with co-workers as a team member - Able to lift up to 50 lbs Additional Information All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or other protected status.
