An engineering consulting company in Tukwila, WA is currently hiring for an R&D Electrical Engineer. This position will be 100% on-site in Tukwila, WA. The role is part of a small R&D team focused on designing and building innovative products for the composite manufacturing and repair industry. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and offers training in certain CAD tools.
Pay
$50.00–$65.00/hr (Depending on years of experience, tenure, software proficiency, relevant job titles…etc.)Location

Standard Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)(Responsibilities)
• Lead circuit board design and development for new and innovative products
• Perform troubleshooting and collaborate with production on prototype and early-stage product builds
• Create, maintain, and improve engineering documentation for electrical equipment and sub-assemblies
• Design, simulate, and test complex analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems
• Perform electronic design activities including circuit boards, interface cabling, system integration, firmware integration, and power system architecture
• Create and maintain bills of materials and recommend parts/materials for prototyping and production
• Develop documentation for manufacturing: process specs, test procedures, manuals, repair instructions, and technical literature
• Write structured code to meet firmware/software requirements
• Interface with vendors to enhance software for product offerings
• Compile and analyze test data to assess product performance under various conditions
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and technical personnel to troubleshoot design issues
• Use project management skills to coordinate special projects aligned with company mission
(Qualification Requirements)
•5+ years of experience in electrical engineering
• Must be able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and engineering drawings
• Moderate proficiency with AutoCAD
• Ability to design, maintain, and improve PCB designs using Altium or similar software
• Experience with embedded systems and digital communication interfaces (USB, SPI, I2C)
• Proficiency in C, Python, and Linux OS
• Familiarity with PID controllers, microprocessors, and microcontrollers
• Hands-on electronics prototyping experience (soldering, SMT rework)
• Strong testing and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prepare technical documentation, test plans, work instructions, and manuals
• Proficient in instrumentation: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, hi-pot testers, multimeters
• Understanding of design for manufacturability, reliability, and cost

• No experience with wire harness design, PCB layout, or testing/validation processes
• Less than 5 years of relevant experience

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
