R&D Construction Technician

An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Pilot Plant Construction Technician.
You will fabricate and/or repair experimental testing apparatus including pilot plants, bench scale units, and demonstration systems. You will support team members to conceptualize, design, plan and implement modifications to existing equipment and technologies that enable development of new and competitive products. Will work from standard fabrication drawings, flow diagrams and P&ID’s to fabricate subsystems and install them on pilot plants or standalone modules.
Capable of working at either our McCook / Riverside or Des Plaines facility
As an R&D Tech II here at Honeywell, you will support the research and development team by conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in the development of new products and technologies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of R&D projects and contribute to the innovation and advancement of our products.
In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge technologies and products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Your contributions will help drive innovation and maintain Honeywell's competitive edge in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct experiments and tests under the guidance of engineers and scientists
+ Collect and analyze data, and prepare reports on findings
+ Assist in the development and improvement of prototypes and products
+ Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
+ Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
**YOU MUST HAVE**
· High School Diploma or GED
**WE VALUE**
· Experience in the construction and fabrication of pilot plants using fractional tubing, cutting, and threading of pipe.
· Experience bending, welding, grinding, and cutting of sheet metal.
· Working knowledge of MS Office
· Can lift to 35 pounds, work on elevated platforms as well as climb ladders and use portable lifts.
· Outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills

· The ability to operate a forklift or man lift
· The ability to conceptualize equipment and piping layout using best practices while considering ergonomics
