Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing and controlling costs throughout the construction project lifecycle, from initial estimates to final accounts.
Prepare detailed cost estimates at various project stages, including concept, scheme, and detailed designProduce and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for tender purposesOversee the tender process, analyze bid returns, and prepare recommendations for clientsManage and monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flows to ensure compliance with company and client protocolsAssess and value progress payments and change requestsReview and compare scopes of work, production rates, and cost dataPrepare, review, and update project cash flowsEvaluate and negotiate variations and change orders in collaboration with the project teamConduct final account settlements and negotiationsAssist in benchmarking, data collection, and internal financial reportingCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cost-effective project deliveryStay updated on local construction regulations and practices in the UAEQualificationsBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institutionMinimum of 8 years of post-graduation experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the UAE or Middle East regionWorking towards or holding MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation is preferredProficient knowledge of industry-recognized contract forms, particularly FIDICExperience with standard methods of measurement, including POMI and NRMStrong skills in cost estimating software, particularly CostXExcellent mathematical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detailProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially advanced Excel skillsOutstanding communication and negotiation skills in English, both verbal and writtenAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyKnowledge of UAE construction regulations and practicesEligibility to work in the UAE (valid work visa or residency may be required)Additional InformationAbout AECOM
