We are looking for a Quantitative Senior Associate!
Position Responsibilities:
With a detailed understanding of various ways our asset classes are reported both internally and externally acts as a key resource to team, leadership. Subject matter expertise includes the various accounting measures of AUM (IFRS, Carrying Value, statutory accounting), and capital requirements, both RBC and MCCSR.
Responsible for generating a wide range of regular analyses on the portfolio and associated reports. Examples are:
RBC risk designation
Internal rate of return analysis
Portfolio guideline measurement
Comparison of our portfolio vs. industry
Leads the tracking and monitoring of the portfolio. These activities include:
Review pricing process
Supervises development of weekly pricing targets
Establishes and maintains databases to supervise the activity of the portfolio
Determine recovery rates on any below investment grades investments
Responsible for preparing analyses for presentations for groups both internal and external to NAREFG.
Normalization of tenant names to facilitate portfolio screens to determine exposure in the event of borrower bankruptcy.
Build and maintain a network of valuable relationships within the company in the areas with which we interact.
Assist Analysts so that they have maximum efficiency in completing their responsibilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or Business Administration required. MBA and/or CFA or CRI strongly preferred. Significant relevant industry experience required.
6-9 years of investment experience, preferably including mortgages.
Advanced knowledge of Bloomberg analytics and data export functionality, as well as other software tools.
Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships and provide accurate and timely communications. Relationships to include the following groups: Credit Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Investor Relations, ACLI, CLHIA.
Advanced project management principles and ability to lead multiple priorities concurrently.
Ability to mentor and develop staff.
Decision Authorities:
The ability to support several projects simultaneously and prioritize between projects through communication with senior leaders and team members is required.
The ability to complete one’s own work while providing the highest level of technical support to the team.
The ability to take initiative to move a project forward in the absence of immediate mentorship from senior leaders is essential.

HybridSalary range is expected to be between

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
