Job Description
As a Quality Technician II, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of manufacturing documentation. You will be responsible for compiling First Article Inspection reports, scheduling customer source inspections, coordinating gauge calibration, and ensuring compliance with ISO/AS standards. Your role will involve performing various product tests and inspections, assisting with audits, and effectively communicating with customers.
Responsibilities
+ Review and maintain completed manufacturing documentation for accuracy.
+ Scan files and save them to correct folders.
+ Compile First Article Inspection reports (FAI per AS9102) and Certificates of Compliance for shipments.
+ Schedule and prepare for customer source inspections.
+ Coordinate gauge calibration with outside services and provide monthly gauge lists to each department.
+ Ensure the plant maintains a system that meets all ISO/AS standards and order new measuring equipment as required.
+ Complete final inspection reports that meet customers’ requirements.
+ Perform hardness, load loss, grinder burn tests, cleanliness tests, and other testing of products as required.
+ Create inspection paperwork for production.
+ Balloon prints and prepare FAIR forms.
+ Assist in preparation for audits and perform internal audits as required.
+ Provide documents for shipping.
+ Perform process capability analysis including gauge R&R studies.
+ Conduct inspections for PPAP’s, FAIR’s, or other required inspections.
+ Assist with corrective actions, root cause analysis, and the disposition of non-conforming products.
+ Effectively communicate with customers.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and blueprints.
+ Troubleshooting skills and experience with hang gauges and metal manufacturing.
+ Knowledge of AS9100, PPAP’s, gauge R&R studies, FAIR’s, audits, first article inspection, hardness testing, ISO standards, AS standards, and gauge track calibration.
+ Experience in documentation, internal audits, non-conforming product management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
+ Ability to perform FMEA’s and control plans.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Quality or related education.
+ Strong communication skills (verbal, written, computer).
+ Exposure to auditing effective quality procedures and processes.
+ Ability to read prints and develop inspection criteria.
+ Working knowledge of ISO 9100, ISO, control plans, FMEA’s, and PPAP’s.
+ Experience in measuring and inspecting products using an optical comparator, calipers, and micrometers.
+ Strong customer relations and communication skills.
+ Familiarity with SPC, gauge calibration, and root cause analysis.
Work Environment
This is a growing company involved in significant projects such as the Mars Rover Landing and future manned missions to the moon. The role is part of the first shift with flexibility in start time between 6:00 am and 7:30 am, ending between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
