As a Quality Technician I a typical day might include the following:  

Provide technical support to internal/external customers and clarify product or material quality requirements.Inspect material or products according to technical requirements and quality standards, utilizing measurement and inspection equipment.Conduct material testing in alignment with industry standards and under the guidance of an experienced technician or engineer/scientist.Troubleshoot and characterize electrical and mechanical components under the guidance of an experienced technician or engineer/scientist.Identify, contain, or evaluate nonconforming materials, parts, or products.Participate in cross-functional teams to address quality issues.Communicate quality results with stakeholders.Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

You have 2-year technical degree, technical certification, or equivalent training combined with relevant work experienceYou have 1+ year of experience in electronics, materials quality, or manufacturingYou have knowledge of inspection techniques and measuring instrumentsYou have the ability to monitor and maintain calibration of tools and test equipmentYou have the ability to maintain high standards for inspection and documentationYou have the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and acceptability requirementsYou have the experience with common computer and manufacturing applicationsYou have effective written, documentation, and communication skillsYou have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesYou have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Two-year STEM degreeExperience with quality tools and techniquesKnowledge of manufacturing processes and product flowKnowledge of sheet metal, printed wiring boards, adhesives, and plastic componentsKnowledge of industry standards and SEL Engineering RequirementsKnowledge of ISO 9001

Pay Range Data

Quality Technician I $23.13 – $34.76 per hour. Quality Technician II $26.20 – $39.28 per hour. Quality Technician III $29.23 – $45.67 per hour. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
