Trane Technologies is currently seeking a Quality Technician.   

 

As a Quality Technician, you will support continuous quality improvement initiatives through problem investigation, data collection, reporting and analysis. Provides advanced metrology services; Administers calibration program. Where is the work:  

This position has been designated as On-Site.    

 

What you will do: 

 

Promotes values as demonstrated in personal productivity and quality of work, management of internal/external relationships, actively seeking out and participating in Continuous Improvement practices, and willingness to engage and support team initiatives.  

Comply with safety procedures.  

Responsible for calibration program. Sends notification of equipment due for calibration to equipment owners. Performs in-house calibration and arranges for outsource calibration. Maintains adequate inventory of loaner test equipment.  

Compiles quality data, creates reports and analyzes trends to identify opportunities for improvement.  

Investigates quality issues raised by manufacturing. Escalates to Quality Engineering, Design Engineering or Supplier Quality as appropriate. Conduct nonconformance/problem investigation and reports results. Participates in problem solving teams. May lead small problem solving events. Processes non-conforming parts.  

 

Performs inspections requiring advanced measurement techniques.  

Reviews and approves of device history records and other documentation as needed 

 

What you will bring: 

 

Relative Work Experience: 3-5 years related work experience (fabrication and FDA/ISO experience preferred).  

Education: AS degree in related field (Quality or IE preferred).  

Certifications / Licenses: CQI CQT preferred.  

Computer Systems / Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, FourthShift (CMM, SPC, Minitab preferred).  

 

Additional Requirements:   
 
 

Demonstrated proficiency with various types of mechanical measuring devices and ability to read blueprints.   

Good verbal and written communication skills.  

The ability to balance interests of a variety of customers; readily re-adjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands; effectively explores alternatives to reach outcomes that gain all parties’ support and acceptance while maintaining quality standards and compliance to FDA/ISO guidelines.  

Demonstrates ability to plan and prioritize work; assess work requirements; make timely and appropriate decisions; use good judgment; meet time commitments.  

Capability to follow established procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; concentrate on routine work details amid periodic interruptions.
