Quality Technician (2nd Shift) - Rail Traction Components

Position Overview:

The Quality Technician is dedicated to ensuring products meet the required quality standards before they are used in production and are sold to customers. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager/ Supervisor.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-4:00 am (2nd Shift)

What your day-to-day will look like:

Conduct shop floor and incoming inspections using tools like micrometers, calipers, FARO, and CMM Document inspection results accurately and enter data into quality systems Reject and segregate non-conforming material; prepare quality alerts and updates Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues with suspect materials Review production documentation, job information, and maintain product traceability Support manufacturing on quality concerns and ISO audit preparation Investigate root causes of quality issues and contribute to corrective actions (e.g., 4Ds/8Ds) Compile quality reports using various software tools Participate in and lead process improvement initiatives Train team members on ISO procedures, quality topics, and develop training materials Conduct internal quality and safety audits Support First Article Inspections and new product introductions Develop and maintain quality-related work instructions Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on quality matters Pursue professional development, certifications, and training as needed Perform additional quality assignments as directed

To thrive in this role, you have:

High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of manufacturing experience with knowledge of quality systems (e.g., ISO9001) 1+ year inspecting parts using measurement tools; able to read mechanical drawings and standards (ISO, DIN) 1+ year working with mechanical/electrical assemblies and interpreting schematics preferred Willing to learn FARO and CMM Strong communication and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) Skilled in analysis, problem-solving, math, and understanding inspection standards Knowledge of EHS procedures and basic training principles Detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently Flexible with tasks, time management, and available for occasional overtime Positive team player with strong interpersonal skills

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to position or move; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for prolonged periods. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to use the computer. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things using established standards and safety. Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment - Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, cranes, and hoist.

Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to mechanical parts that may be sharp Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions May involve the use of oils and solvents Subject to some soilage and irritation from cleaning solutions. (Lab Coats provided) Generally, works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such Safety glasses and shoes are required Will require area specific safety training This position works in a manufacturing environment

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
