This position is based out of our Hiawatha, IA facility and on our second shift. + Coordinate ISO Internal Audits Procedures and Process Audits. + Update ISO procedures, work instructions and standard works with direction from QA Engineer / Manager. + May initiate appropriate corrective action to resolve quality problems, of internal or external sources, with direction from QA Engineer / Manager + Setup, maintain and report on SPC programs. + Maintain calibration records and service/control gage inventory. + Design Gage R&R and conduct analysis + Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to present in front of various group sizes and back grounds. + Coordinate PPAP completion + Conduct process capability studies and analyze results. + Assist in ISO Internal Audits Procedures and Process Audit. + Audit processes and work areas for conformance to appropriate instructions, materials, and identification. + Operate electronic data collecting equipment along with a network-based computer system. + Verify accuracy of gages and measuring instruments, such as calipers, plug gages, dial indicators, and pressure gages using master gages and standards. + Accurately read gages, prints, part identification, specifications, and procedures. + Actively participate in Parker’s “Lean” initiatives. + Ability to work all shifts and work overtime as necessary + Assist with data and product/process information and analysis. + Assist with PPAP data collection and documentation + Perform line inspections when necessary + Maintain departmental records. + Document nonconforming goods through internal quality system and communicate the non-conformances to the appropriate party. + Assist in PFMEAs, control plans and process improvements. + Perform standard test and/or preliminary evaluation programs for product compliance as well as root cause analysis on samples of routine products and defective product. + Perform product inspection and testing as required per appropriate specification or standard. + Conduct process capability studies + Obtain, evaluate, and document testing requirements on designated raw materials and finished goods. + Perform Receiving Audits in accordance with applicable procedures, standards and instructions + Generate inspection reports, make dispositions, and maintain database. + Perform containment procedures and maintain hold area. + Attend special training classes as necessary to maintain certifications and improve skill sets + Train others in Quality related skills and procedures. + Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately. + Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High-Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/ SCOPE: + Report directly to Quality Manager + Work closely with other departments to resolve issues with the processes & equipment Education required: + Completed 2 or 4 year program at college, trade school, or vocation tech program + APQP Training (recommended) + ASQC Certification (recommended ) Experience: + Experience or familiarity with production process Preferred Skills/ Qualifications: + Two (2) years’ experience in quality or inspection + Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills + Basic knowledge and use of hand tools + Sound decision making skills + Good math, reading, writing skills + Demonstrated mechanical aptitude + Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product + Strong troubleshooting skills Skills/ Competencies: + Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package, Minitab, QSI programs + Able to demonstrate 12th grade equivalence in math and reading comprehension.
