Quality Support Specialist (4493)
The Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) is seeking a highly motivated Quality Support (QS) Specialist to support ongoing efforts related to the CH-53 program and other medium/heavy lift cargo and utility helicopter platforms. In this role, you will identify and resolve issues, implement quality assurance standards, and proactively find chances for continuous improvement. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide input and recommendations to special teams established for the resolution of quality engineering related issues.  Monitor operations to identify and prevent the occurrence of defects in delivered products and services.  Develop a strategic planning analytical approach to supporting the aviation, missile and related weapon system product quality management (PQM) program for the PIF.  Develop and provide advice that implements the appropriate steps through the acquisition cycle for assessing the quality of materiel performance and provides a schedule of past quality problems that can be effectively used in preventing a recurrence of the problems or by which existing problems can be quickly resolved. Review and assess hardware and software problems and recommend appropriate QA contract provisions to be included in the formulation of the acquisition strategy and all acquisition streamlining initiatives.  Evaluate, integrate, and coordinate mission requirements that encompasses all PQM aspects of contractor, depot, government agencies, materiel fielding, international logistics FMS, and grant aid quality operations throughout the complete acquisition life cycle.  Participate with production, engineering, and other activities to develop plans and procedures for assuring quality and reliability of products and services provided under contract.  Verify product quality using statistical sampling inspection methods; or, when appropriate to the characteristics involved or when pertinent quality history dictates, preform more intensive process and product audit/inspection. Participate in and provide recommendations, input and analysis on interface and mission direction, coordination and management with other government agencies, contractors and DOD agencies, organic support activities and foreign FMS governments engaged in weapon system major end items and repair parts manufacture, testing, inspection, and use DOD, DA, acquisition procedures, and guidelines, for acquisition programs. Analyze problems and issues surfaced by the User community, Repair Activities, Depots and Prime Contractors and recommend proposed resolution of the problems.

Required Skills & Experience 

Clearance Required: Secret Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience Allowable substitution: An Associate's degree and 12+ years or a high school diploma and 14+ years' experience  Quality Assurance Representative Experience Avionics and Aircraft Maintenance Experience on DoD Aircraft Electrical trouble shooting and repair for H60 experience Data and Trend Analysis Reporting Experience IPC Certified Strong oral and written and communication skills
