About the role he plant Quality Supervisor provides site leadership for Food Safety and Quality in alignment with the Kerry Corporate Policies. This position reports to the Senior Quality Manager and has a functional reporting relationship to the Production Manager. This position requires 5-10% travel. Key responsibilities Key Responsibilities 1.Food Safety: Ensure effective food safety compliance and work with plant management team to implement programs to mitigate risk. Manage and lead HACCP program and team at site level, ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices, preventive controls and prerequisite programs are in place and effective. Manage the plant Food Safety & Quality System to produce safe quality food, acting as SQF Practitioner or equivalent GFSI manager (BRC, FS22000). 2.Quality Systems: Develop and maintain food safety and quality systems including QC & QA. Develop, review and align procedures will corporate policies, through GQMS (Global Quality Management System) with a drive towards best practice. Internally audit practices and procedures for improvement to prevent non-conformances. Quality system shall include food safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Control in LIMS and SAP, material control, sanitation, and HACCP, as required by GQMS. 3.Compliance: Enforce Kerry standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory compliance. Ensure that the products released are compliant and safe foods. Be the point person at the site for regulatory inspections (FDA/CFIA), identify preserved (ie, organic, kosher) and customer audits. 4.Quality Improvement: Track report and review agreed upon KPIs. Develop and lead the plant Quality Improvement Plan. Partner cross-functionally in quality and process improvement. 5.Customer Satisfaction: Be proactive and responsive in addressing customer complaints, communicating effectively on technical issues and leading the root cause analysis. Develop and verify corrective actions. 6.Managerial Responsibilities: Develop and maintain qualified personnel within the plant Quality department, through training, communication, and accountability. This involves recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction and motivation. Manage the department within budget and utilize resources effectively to meet needs of the business on a timely basis. 7.Technical Skills: Continuously improve knowledge of products and technology to investigate variation and resolve technical problems with the team. Apply a scientific approach with statistical analysis to data and problem solving. Act as the primary technical liaison with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies. Qualifications and skills Technical Competencies CompetencyHow its demonstrated : Technical ExpertiseExperience in numerous technical functional roles such as: supply quality, quality systems, regulatory, R&D, manufacturing, laboratory management, sensory, raw materials & sustainability. Demonstrates a firm command of technology deployed and end use applications Knowledge of HACCP, Environmental Monitoring Programmes, risk mitigation, problem solving tools, sanitation, audit standards, raw materials, quality related ICT programmes, and basic processing technologies. Relevant scientific knowledge & experience of food & processing technologies Depth & breadth in the sciences in areas related to: Food Science, Microbiology, Food Engineering, Regulatory, Food Chemistry, & Packaging. Proven knowledge of food & beverage regulations and latest customer/consumer eexpectations Ability to identify and drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives Strong troubleshooting and root cause analyses skills. Ability to manage projects through established methodologies Strategic Thinking & InfluenceProvides strategic leadership regionally in collaboration with regional executive team and transforms into short term and long term objectives Ability to create a vision, develop a strategy and outline a project plan to deliver against the strategy. Builds collaboration and influences leadership and peers to drive Quality and deliver against the QSHE agenda Strategically targets and participates in technical and trade association committees for the region (co-ordinated globally) Processing Optimization & Product KnowledgeLeverages process and organisational knowledge to support business goals Builds relationship within Kerry organization to optimize available resources Builds strategic relationships outside organization to keep up with best practices Uses processing knowledge to help impact Kerry's bottom line Shares processing and organizational knowledge across the Business Keeps an eye on the bigger picture Specific Skill Requirements EssentialDesirable EducationBachelors degree from an accredited institution in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering. Knowledge and experience with relevant GFSI standards such as SQF, BRC, IFS or FS 22000.Minimum 4-10 years of quality experience and/or training. Experience managing quality and food safety systems. Experience in a plant environment strongly preferred. Technical Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with a variety of stakeholders. The typical hiring range for this role is $64,000 to 105,000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
