Quality Supervisor
The Quality Supervisor will oversee and support the quality inspection team's daily tasks. This includes directing daily work, technical support, scheduling management, and training. Additionally, this position will collaborate with other departmental leaders to ensure the successful achievement of the goals of the organization. This role will provide help to ensure customer satisfaction and an enhanced customer experience. KEY OBJECTIVES Other duties beyond this representative listing may be assigned to the essential job duties and responsibilities of this position based on Company needs. Essential Job Functions Supervise and direct quality inspectors in their day-to-day activities. Ensure product, service, and process conform to all applicable requirements and standards. Read, comprehend, and convey relevant, applicable regulations, standards, and customer requirements as necessary to provide technical support to inspectors and technicians. Investigate quality-related issues (including customer complaints) and collaborate with other departments to drive appropriate resolution. Provide mentorship and team development to quality inspectors through training, setting expectations, providing accountability, and assisting with evaluations. Support continuous improvement by conducting (or participating in) root cause investigations into non-conformances with recommendations for appropriate corrective actions to resolve identified root causes. Support management team with process development, refinement, and auditing. Certify trucks as complete, intermediate, or altered vehicles according to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree required. Associate’s degree or greater (or Technical Certificate) is highly preferred. General experience in automotive service or fabrication environment required. Prior experience working directly with the ISO 9001:2015 standard for Quality Management System (QMS) is preferred. Minimum 5 years of work experience as quality assurance auditor/technician in commercial truck, automotive service, or manufacturing industry and at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity; or applicable work experience in lieu of education is accepted. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) / Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) vehicles or Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (“AFVI”) certification is preferred. Consideration is given to relevant experience and related certification. A valid driver’s license may be required, along with a driving record that meets the requirements of the company’s insurance provider. Other Skills and Abilities Required Ability to read and interpret specifications, work instructions, basic schematics, and relevant industry standards, with an application toward product and service provision conformance. Experienced in personnel leadership capacity, with training responsibilities. Ability to process auditing with report-out experience preferred. Ability to work under pressure in a highly fast-paced environment. Ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail. Ability to work overtime if assigned. Ability to be resourceful in acquiring information and best business practices to make effective business decisions. Experienced with ISO 9001:2015. Familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state, and local regulations. Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control. Possesses analytic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws, and propose solutions. Familiarity with MS Office, Smartsheet, SAP, and tool control. Ability to attend and participate in company or department meetings, including leading quality team meetings. Ability to perform other quality or process improvement duties as directed by the Quality Manager or General Manager.
