StampTech Fasteners TM Division Description:
The ITW StampTech Fastener Division serves the major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market. The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies. The annual revenue for the division is approximately $160M. Job Summary
The Quality Supervisor supports the coordination and implementation of quality programs and systems for the plant and QA lab. This person will lead the consistent application of assigned quality programs and systems, ensuring that quality systems meet ITW standards and conform to customer requirements.
Responsible for identifying and resolving quality problems. Implements various components of a quality assurance programs comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, product assessment, and quality technology including testing. Develops process control, lab, and quality procedures.
Responsible for supervising quality control auditors and lab techs. Responsible for raw material, in-process, or finished goods quality control. Research product defects, recommending modifications in products or standards, and prepares necessary reports. Requires a combination of quality certifications and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Reports to the Quality Manager.
Primary Key Responsibilities
Maintains assigned quality systems for the lab and plant, supports continuous quality improvement efforts.Direct contact for plant floor interface with managementParticipate in quality planning/manufacturing process review as needed (APQP).Document control of manufacturing and quality documents including distribution/removal of obsolete forms, test/customer standards and work instructions.Directs inspection and testing of received parts, components, and materials to determine conformance to standards and customer requirements.Responsible for operation and maintenance of computer hardware and software related to data collection and management for determination of product quality and process capability.Review control of non-conformance material disposition and re-inspection of reworked product.Lead/Participate in internal quality audits such as, layered process audit (LPA), 5S (Safety) ISO/TS16949, ISO14001, ISO/IEC 17025 and document findings.If necessary, will accompany QE to visit customer plants and meet with customers to resolve quality related issues.Work with manager to assure QA Lab systems meet ISO/IEC17025 requirementsSupport QE’s and PPAP as required in such areas as: APQP, Process Control Plans, D &PFMEAs, MSA and PPAP, etc.Gathers and reports monthly quality metrics.Programming of lab equipment (Force testers, Torque Drivers, Measurement equipment, etc.)Conduct performance reviews for quality auditors and lab technicians.Conduct training on new and or revised WI, Procedures, etc.Coordinate/provide all new employee quality training/ testing.Review and maintain lab specific procedures and work instructionsCalculate uncertainty budgets as necessary as part of ISO 17025 requirementUse and provide MSA guidance and training to personnelReview and approve all lab personnel time and attendanceOther duties as assigned by managerMinimum Qualifications/Requirements
Combination of quality certifications and a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, preferredExperience with reading and interpreting customer/manufacturing prints.Stamping manufacturing experience preferred.Austemper heat treat knowledge (able to test and interpret microstructure and decarb results), preferredAble to perform and compile Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R studies.Strong understanding of specifications for industry and/or OEM customers (ASTM, SAEs, Ford, GM, etc.)2 or more years’ work experience with a Quality Systems setting within a manufacturing environment. Experience in Automotive industry preferred (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC, QA Lab setting)Experience with root cause analysis, SPC knowledge, technically able to utilize measuring/testing equipment and gauges (Keyence, Instron, Torque Gages)Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with team members, managers, co-workers, and customersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills (8d, 5Ys)Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritizeComputer proficiency; Minitab, AS400, SAP and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)Physical Demands
