Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to deliver reliable, high-quality products through effective quality control practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and robust systems management. By acting as the technical link between Manufacturing and R&D, you will help streamline operations, improve efficiency, and uphold compliance with ISO and corporate quality frameworks.

Long Description

We are looking for a results-driven Quality Control & CI Supervisor to play a key role in ensuring product consistency, optimizing laboratory and production processes, and maintaining our global quality standards. This position provides technical leadership, manages quality systems and certifications, and fosters collaboration across Production, RD&I, and Supply Chain. You’ll lead a small team of QA and Color Lab technicians while promoting a culture of operational excellence, safety, and inclusion.

The Quality Control and CI Supervisor is a member of the plant management team and provides technical support to Production in order to solve processes & formulation issues, optimize and streamline various manufacturing processes, improve product quality & consistency, and ensures that the proper tools and systems are in place to produce products of proper quality. Consistently developing standard protocols and implementing the best Global practices.

 

The role serves as a technical connection between Manufacturing, ISC, and RD&I. Reporting to the Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations of the Quality Control and Color Laboratory teams. Drive continuous improvement programs to reduce waste, optimize processes, and enhance product quality. Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards. Investigate and resolve customer complaints, process deviations, and supplier quality issues. Partner with RD&I on product introductions and process transfers. Support audits, certifications, and corporate quality assessments. Promote a safe, inclusive, and performance-focused culture. Ensure timely and accurate batch testing and release. Maintain compliance with internal quality procedures and external standards. Build team capability through training, coaching, and performance management. Monitor quality KPIs and implement corrective or preventive actions. Manage departmental budgets and contribute to overall site cost objectives. Conduct GEMBA walks, quality rounds, and site inspections. Lead internal audit schedules and support external audits. Track and communicate quality performance to site and regional stakeholders. Develop and execute improvement roadmaps aligned with global initiatives. Recommend and monitor capital or process improvement projects. Job Requirements Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Biology or a related field highly preferred Minimum of 2 years in a technical role in chemical production or product development/manufacturing facility required ISO 9001, ISO 45001, or ISO 14001 required Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement program experience preferred but not required PowerBI experience preferred but not required Knowledge of raw materials, chemicals, and solvents used in coatings manufacturing. Knowledge of documentation, safety requirements and safe practices for use of chemicals. Skill to use and maintain laboratory equipment. Skill to use Microsoft Office applications. Strong analysis and problem resolution skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with users, management, stakeholders, and project teams. Ability to build effective partnerships with cross-functional team members at all levels within the organization to achieve quality and operational goals. Ability to work as part of a team and motivate others. Ability to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects simultaneously Compensation

The salary range for these skills is $74,000.00 - $78,000.00 based upon experience.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
