We are looking for Quality Operative to join our #WeAreMcCain family.
As a Quality Operative, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest company standards.
It would be your role to ensure our products are produced to company standard which includes:
Carrying out line audits throughout the process to identify issues and promptly communicating findings to the relevant Shift Area Manager.
Auditing all products produced in co-operation with the Area Quality Leader — this includes assessing size, defects, frozen/fried appearance, texture, and grading the product accordingly.
Advising and guiding Technical and Packing Operatives to ensure Quality checks are completed in line with Company specifications.
Assisting with the training of new Quality Operatives to maintain strong onboarding and consistency.
Restricting and releasing products with authorisation from the Area Quality Leader, and updating the control room operative accordingly.
Recording all audit and inspection results accurately using SAP, Excel, and other relevant systems.
Notifying the Area Quality Leader, Process and Packing Area Leaders, and other stakeholders of any product issues, alongside upstream sampling results.
Checking packaging materials to ensure the correct product is packed correctly, with accurate seals and codes on bags and cases.
Maintaining all lab equipment in a clean, safe condition and ensuring it remains in good working order.
Keeping the working area clean, tidy, and safe at all times to meet both Company and Food Hygiene standards.
Ensuring all SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) information is accurate and up to date.
Covering other Quality roles as needed to support wider business requirements.
Actively participating in continuous improvement activities, including SQDC initiatives.
Performing any reasonable duties requested to support team and business goals.
All whilst maintaining high quality, hygiene, maximum production, and a high level of safety – our number one priority here at McCain.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK?
You’ll be based at our Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. We opened this plant back in the swinging sixties, but it’s definitely not stuck in the past. It’s one of the largest French fry factories in the world and after a recent development, it’s also one of the most high tech. Our team of over 300 colleagues work hard to make sure the quality of our products keep our customers returning for more, for now and years to come!
