We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation aircraft.

Quality Operations, FLRAA Fuselage – Wichita, KS

The Quality Operations Specialist will be responsible for Quality Operations, FAI and Inspection Planning for the fuselage manufacturing and assembly for the FLRAA aircraft.

This Position assures that manufacturing processes and inspection methods utilized meet and exceed customer quality expectations and to provide technical support to quality and engineering personnel.

Leads the creation and maintenance of electronic documentation of inspections through the use of access, updates departmental procedures, performs self-audits and procedure review, advises and assists IPT's in projects and problem solutions, engages and employs capital equipment in departmental areas, updates charts and graphs, creates on-line reporting system for the quality department, assists in corrective action and supports the internal audit program, functions as a Planning Review Board member for Quality, creates inspection instructions, plans, reviews technical data and translates into effective Manufacturing / Quality planning and First Article Inspections.

This position is onsite in Wichita, Kansas.

What you’ll be doing as a Quality Operations Specialist:

The Quality Operations Specialist is the Quality System lead ensuring compliance in Quality Operations and all associated customer contractual requirements are planned into Wichita FAIs, Quality Work Instructions and Planning Review Board processes.Build First Article Inspection (FAI) Plans, Quality Inspection Instructions (QIIs) for complex composite and metallic fabrication parts, airframe structure, sub-components and assembly practices Functions as a Planning Review Board member for Quality. Ensure compliance of configuration management through audit, evaluation, and tracking. Leads the PRB feedback loop and quality health metric ensuring Customer satisfaction is planned into the Wichita work instructions.Interface with end users, customers, and subcontractors leading and facilitating Quality related projects on a multitude of issues.Support new aircraft development and advanced Quality technology implementation. Support cross functional teams engaged in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Quality Data Analysis and product audits

Support cross functional teams engaged in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Quality Data Analysis and product auditsSkills You Bring To this Role:Ability to create Quality Inspection Instructions, identifying within the planning routes the appropriate inspection placement.Ability to extract and interpret complex models for Catia V6 3DX for use in Advanced Quality Planning Activities.Ability to navigate MES systems: CAMS, SAP ECC, SAP PEOAbility to communicate effectively leading Quality technical discussions to at all levels including senior leadership, and present in a credible fashion. Ability to manage multiple priorities and successfully prioritize.What you need to be successful:Bachelor’s degree requiredAt least 5 years of experience in Quality in a manufacturing environment required, Aerospace Quality experience preferred.Extensive GDT experience applied to composite parts, metal fabrication, airframe structure and assembly practices.Thorough understanding of AS9100/AS9102 and the creation of First Article Inspection planningNOTE: Bell/Textron Relocation Assistance is NOT available for this role.
