Job Description
The Quality Manager will oversee Quality Management Systems, focusing on customer relations, quality engineering, and plant engineering systems and procedures. Leading a team of 3 Quality Engineers and 2 Quality Technicians, the Quality Manager will provide guidance, training, and task delegation. Developing and communicating a vision for process control is a priority, requiring effective interpersonal skills to resolve quality issues and implement new systems.
ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership in all areas of quality.Establish quality systems for the organization.Audit, update, and change quality processes to meet IATF regulations and host audits.Ensure adherence to Quality procedures for maintaining certifications.Assess and guide quality-related opportunities on the production floor.Implement and improve quality systems to enhance industry leadership.Provide continuous improvement across all quality areas.Stay informed on new quality techniques and procedures.Travel to customers and suppliers for problem resolution, company promotion, and assistance (up to 15% travel, domestic and international).Follow all safety procedures and requirements.Facilitate teams and meetings on corrective actions, customer complaints, and internal quality issues.Access and utilize customer portals as required.Complete necessary documentation for new part approval processes and perform Gauge R&R and capability studies.Understand customer quality requirements and communicate expectations through training and instructions.Collaborate with production and engineering to create and update boundary samples for new and existing programs.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering.5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer, implementing quality programs.Strong knowledge and experience in GD&T DOE, Gauge R&R, PPAP, and SPC.Experience leading and directing plant continuous improvement processes.Quality leadership experience, including SQ, CQM, CQE, plastic injection molding.Work Environment
The Quality Manager will report to the Vice President of Operations, leading a team of 3 Quality Engineers and 2 Quality Technicians, working hours from 6:45 AM to 4:00 PM.
The position is at a well-organized, temperature-controlled East Plant, which includes automated processes and a cubicle office space.
The company specializes in injection molded plastics for automotive, medical, and consumer goods, also performing decorative molding and thermoforming processes.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.89/hr.
