**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As a Quality Manager at our Cement Manufacturing Plant, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in our production processes and final products, including those involving the use of alternate fuels and new Alternative Raw Materials. You will lead and manage the quality assurance team, develop and implement quality control procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives. Your expertise in quality management will contribute to maintaining regulatory compliance, optimizing production efficiency, and meeting customer expectations, while also addressing the unique challenges associated with the use of alternate fuels in cement production.
**WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements, with a specific focus on the use of alternate fuels in cement production.
+ Establish and maintain quality control procedures, including inspection plans, sampling methods, and testing protocols, to monitor and assess product quality at various stages of the production process, considering the impact of alternate fuels on product characteristics.
+ Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance departments to identify and resolve quality-related issues, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented, especially related to the use of alternate fuels.
+ Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess process performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for enhancing quality and operational efficiency, taking into account the challenges and opportunities presented by alternate fuels.
+ Analyze production data, quality metrics, and customer feedback to identify trends, deviations, and areas requiring improvement, and develop action plans accordingly, considering the specific implications of alternate fuels.
+ Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leading quality improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma projects, root cause analysis, and process optimization, while considering the complexities associated with the use of alternate fuels.
+ Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on quality control techniques, standards, and procedures, promoting a strong quality mindset throughout the organization, with specific emphasis on the implications of alternate fuels.
+ Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure incoming raw materials, including alternate fuels, and components meet quality specifications, and establish effective supplier quality management processes.
+ Prepare and present quality reports and performance metrics to senior management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations for improvement, with a specific focus on the use of alternate fuels and its impact on quality.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**
**Education:** Bachelor’s Degree
**Additional Education Preferred:** Master’s Degree
**Field of Study Preferred:** Chemical Engineering
**Required Work Experience:** At least 5 years experience as a Quality Manager in cement manufacturing or related heavy industrial environment, with exposure to alternate fuel
**Required Training/Certifications:** Valid Driver’s License, P.Eng. preferred
**Travel Requirements:** 5-10%
**Additional Requirements:**
+ In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements relevant to the cement manufacturing industry, including considerations related to the use of alternate fuels.
+ Strong understanding of cement production processes, including raw materials, kiln operations, grinding, packaging, and the utilization of alternate fuels
+ Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing quality control procedures, including statistical process control (SPC) methods and quality inspection techniques, accounting for the challenges posed by alternate fuels.
+ Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), adapted to address the unique aspects of alternate fuel usage.
+ Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards quality objectives, even in the context of using alternate fuels.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to navigate complexities associated with alternate fuel usage.
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams, while addressing the challenges of integrating alternate fuels into the quality management process.
+ Proficiency in using quality management software and tools for data analysis and reporting, with the capability to adapt them to incorporate alternate fuel-related considerations.
+ Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
