Job Description
This role involves implementing, executing, and promoting food safety for products through Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Security Measures, and Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP). The position requires ensuring compliance with FDA cGMP (21CFR Part 110), EXCiPACT, and BRC standards, while directing quality program planning and coordination to meet customer specifications. The Quality Supervisor will have overall responsibility for lab management and support the QA/QC Supervisor in planning and scheduling laboratory coverage.
ResponsibilitiesImplement and promote food safety through GMP's, SOP's, and HACCP.Ensure compliance with FDA cGMP, EXCiPACT, and BRC standards.Direct quality program planning to meet customer specifications.Manage lab operations and support QA/QC Supervisor with scheduling.Provide training in quality techniques to enhance team knowledge.Ensure a safe working environment for all quality employees.Communicate facility quality performance to management and staff.Coordinate development, maintenance, and validation of test methods.Assist with product specification updates and test method development.Support engineering and technology teams with process improvements.Maintain Lab QMS System (LX-400) databases.Research, propose, and set up new instrumentation within budget.Propose, write, and review quality control SOPs.Perform statistical analysis of test results for internal trending.Provide backup support for QA and QC Coordinators and Analysts.Collaborate on projects for cost savings, quality improvement, and more.Work with plant leadership and other departments to meet quality standards.Perform additional duties as defined by the manager.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree (BS) in Food Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or similar field.Five years of experience in quality/regulatory leadership in food manufacturing.Experience in food safety/quality programs including HACCP, GMPs, SPC.Exposure to Continuous Improvement programs like Six Sigma and TQM.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in managing food safety/quality programs.Skills in statistical process control and continuous improvement methodologies.Work Environment
The work environment is an industrial food manufacturing facility, where the Quality Supervisor will lead a team consisting of a Quality Control Technicians, a Document Control Specialist, and a QA Coordinator. The position requires overseeing the quality process including critical process characteristics, standards, audits, and complaint resolutions. The role offers flexibility in shift hours and requires alignment with company directives and goals.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
