Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will be responsible for supporting manufacturing process improvements, making a significant contribution to the strategic goal of quality improvement; provide oversite and direction to Quality Engineering supervision, Inspection supervision, Document Control, and Calibration. This role will work closely with the Continuous Improvement Engineer, Supply Chain Manager, and Manufacturing Manager to complete projects aimed at meeting quality, cost, and on-time delivery while meeting customer expectations and supplier quality management. This role is also responsible to lead and maintain the multi-site Quality Management System to meet ISO9001 and AS9100D. **Responsibilities:** + Planning and managing product quality, including product qualification and design validation; + Process analysis and improvement through the implementation of statistical tools and Six Sigma methodology; + Provide oversite and direction to Quality Engineering supervision, Inspection supervision, Document Control, and Calibration; + Ensures manufactured products meet agreed-upon customer and site controlled specifications; + Professionally manages customer communications regarding quality escapes, repaired product turn-around time and status, correlation of testing parameters, and deviations to specifications, when required; + Act as the primary customer interface for Quality related matters for the Miamisburg site; + Provide guidance and assistance to the Quality Management team consisting of two Quality Engineering Supervisors; one Quality Inspection Supervisor and 20 indirect employees; + Assist in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the site Quality Engineers; + Lead specific production yield improvement projects; + Participate and contribute in New Product Introduction Process and understand specification development and verification upon transition to production; + Manage and improve, where applicable, the site Quality system, and processes; + Assist in the maintenance of the QMS and training of the multi-site to ISO 9001 and AS9100D requirements; + Coordinator for the site’s Corrective and Preventive Action process including proper closure and Root Cause analysis; + Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) program for Non-Conforming Material Disposition; + 5%-10% travel is expected where applicable. **Qualifications:** + B.S. in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering preferred with 10+ years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or regulatory environment; + 5+ years Quality Management experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 accredited facility; + Strong leadership skills with a holistic approach is required; + ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ certified Black Belt preferred; + Strong background in Aviation, Space and Defense Industries is preferred; + Understanding and familiar with design control processes, including design history files, manufacturing process instructions, MRB, failure analysis, and corrective/preventive actions and verification testing; + Knowledge of AS9100D, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO14971 Risk Management is required; + Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement techniques such as Lean Enterprise, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.; + Experience in NPI process management and product quality planning; + This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); + Visa sponsorship is not available for any position at Teledyne; + Due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, **U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.** Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
