Job Title: Quality Lab Technician

Job Description

The Lab Technician's primary responsibility is to perform mechanical testing of materials in accordance with customer requirements. Ensure that activities are conducted and documented in alignment with quality requirements.

ResponsibilitiesOperate tensile testing equipment safely and accurately.Maintain a good understanding of measuring techniques and train others to adhere to the tolerances set forth by the Aluminum Standards Association.Conduct quality inspections on aluminum before, during, and after processing.Retrieve and document data according to customer requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns.Maintain a clean quality lab and manufacturing area.Promote the highest quality product and assist in the leadership and support of the Quality Management System.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency in quality control, quality inspection, and tensile testing.Familiarity with ASTM Standards (American Society for Testing and Materials).Experience in conducting quality audits and material testing.Ability to collect samples and perform sample cutting.Knowledge of alloys, shear, router, and raw material testing.Additional Skills & Qualifications1-3 years of relevant experienceFamiliarity with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)Good organizational skills and technical capabilities.Basic math and communication skills.Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.Work Environment

The role is based in a mechanical lab that may be messy, with oil and metal scraps present. The work schedule is graveyard shift, starting Monday night from 9pm to 7am, Monday through Thursday. The position requires a 6-week training shift: starting as a Saw Helper/QC on the graveyard shift for 3 weeks and transitioning to Lab Technician on the day shift for 3 weeks, reporting to the Quality Engineer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
