The Quality Inspector 2 inspects a range of components, parts, and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions.
Responsibilities: Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standardsParticipates in gathering statistical data from products and processesPerforms visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electromechanical assemblies and subassembliesVisual inspections of soldered assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards, and harness assembliesPrepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested itemsIdentifies design, process, or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issuesPerforms routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies, and toolingRead technical drawings with multiple viewsLocate and utilize correct part, assembly, and material specifications or drawingsUse tolerances and dimensions to required accuracy and precisionPrepare certifications in accordance with appropriate regulationFiling of both hard copy and electronic recordsOther responsibilities as assignedRegular, consistent, and punctual attendance is requiredMay need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary
Basic Hiring Criteria: High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectationsCertifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a related fieldMinimum 2 - 5 years of relevant experience (Aerospace and Electronics environments preferred)
Desired Qualifications:Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervisionAble to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issuesSkilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignmentMust have intricate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, M.O.'s, wiring diagrams, and be able to add tolerances using decimals, etcMust be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketchesProficient computer skillsRead written/printed specifications and drawings
