Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Incoming Inspector - 2nd Shift to join the Starline Team in Reading, UK. The Quality Incoming Inspector position is responsible for ensuring that all purchased material is reviewed for conformance against defined criteria using the necessary measurement and inspection equipment.

 

Working Hours: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

 

What Will You Do?

Inspection of all incoming material to determine conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, and/or instructionsPerform First Article Inspections (FAI) on new part submissionsRecords inspection results into defined repositoryAssist in resolving any conformance related materials issueDocumentation and processing of nonconforming materialsCreates and or updates test plans as requiredIdentifies the need for increased or reduced sampling based on historical inspection dataProactively seeks out opportunities to improve the incoming inspection processSupports company driven Kaizen eventsCreates and or updates Standard Work and associated KPI dataMaterial movement of inspected items Performs all duties in a timely manner, must be a team player, self-motivated, and attention to detailAdhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SECRIT valuesAssists in the Quality team in investigating, containing, and controlling material that is nonconformingOther duties as assigned Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalentAssociate’s Degree in a technical background preferred

Experience:

1-year minimum quality control inspection experience preferred

Preferred Skills:

Ability to read blueprintsAbility to run reports, effectively present information and respond to questionsAbility to use Syteline, MQ1 and other systemsAbility to learn Microsoft office Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts Proficient in reading engineering drawings and BOMsExcellent verbal and written skills requiredAbility to work independentlyWorking knowledge of basic inspection (calipers, micrometers, functional gaging) equipment

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

The performance of this position requires exposure to the receiving/shipping and manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are requiredAbility to stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to lift and carry up to 40 lbs Company Info
