We want you to apply! **Job Summary and Qualifications** This position has individual responsibility for abstracting data as defined by the various measure sets/indicators. This data may be entered into computer database and/or Microsoft Word, Excel, or manually entered on a form. Monitor for compliance to maintain hospital standards of care in accordance with JCAHO, state, and federal regulations. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** + Systematically abstracts specified data that is complete, accurate, and consistent. + Concurrently reviews all required patient records for compliance with core measures indicators. + Demonstrates and facilitates compliance with JCAHO, CMS, AHCA requirements regarding timeliness of submission of data + Exhibits responsibility and accountability for assigned work, works independently + Must balance multiple tasks/projects while meeting organizational standards + Must be extremely detail oriented and able to follow through on all assigned tasks + Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruption + Uses various software programs to develop, generate and update documentation + Reviews medical records according to criteria and outcome data identified + Works effectively as a team member + Demonstrates excellent skills in planning, organizing, and managing personnel resources in a cost effective and productive manner for the operation of the nursing department. + Understands all functional areas of the hospital. + Regular, punctual, and dependable attendance + Other duties as assigned **What qualifications you will need:** + AS degree in Nursing + Current State of Florida license for Registered Nurse or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire. + Abstracting experience preferred + 3-5 years clinical experience HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is a 113-bed acute care hospital.
