We are looking for a Quality Engineer to:
Seek innovative solutions to a variety of technical problemsSupport Suppliers and Production with the flow of material through quality processesSupport Engineering by providing a quality perspective in technical discussions and decisionsWork with our partners in the supply chain to promote closed loop solutions and efficient material flowPrimary Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain inspection, rejection, and measurement criteria for a variety of partsLead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings that seek material dispositions for nonconforming materialLead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activity for a variety of technical issues and seek closed loop solutionsIntegrate with collaborative technical teams to solve a variety of problemsCollect and analyze datasets to inform decision making around inspection criteria, nonconforming material, etcMonitors and reports supplier performance statusReview engineering designs and manufacturing work instructions and provide technical feedbackGenerate, review, and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102 requirementsEstablish collaborative working relationships with external entities such as, Suppliers and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) representativesProvide guidance and mentorship to Quality Technicians and junior Quality EngineersSupport inspection activities when neededKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications; particularly for cables and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 & IPC-A-610 standardsProblem solving and analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and present persuasive solutionsStrong teamwork and interpersonal skills; works effectively and cooperatively with others and establishes and maintains good working relationshipsTechnical aptitude for learning new computer applications and for working in a highly technical environmentCommunicate effectively in person and via written forms, particularly when discussing technical details.Preferred:
Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 & IPC-A-610 standardsKnowledge and understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001Knowledge in Quality tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, GR&R), AS9100D, ISO9001, Military StandardsExperience with process development, implementation, and documentationExperience with Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) techniquesEducation & Experience
Required:
Technical bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years related work experience, or a Master’s degree, or comparable mix of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in mathematics, sciences or technologies.Preferred:
2 or more years of experience in a Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, or a similar supply chain focused technical role.Education or experience in electrical engineering, design, build, test, etc.Onsite & Travel:
Insitu offers flexible work from home options to Hybrid employees depending upon the roles and responsibilities of the position.
Preferred onsite at Insitu’s Eagle Point facility in Bingen, WA an average of 2 days per week. However, for the right candidate other options can be considered, up to the minimum requirement of 1 day per quarter.Must be able and willing to travel domestically within the US to engage with and/or audit suppliers (~10%)At Insitu, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
