Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Manager. This role is based at our Los Angeles, CA location. With 250 employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace industry.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $125062.47 - $183424.96 a year.

**What you’ll do:**
Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, this position gives direction to the quality engineering function. This position provides leadership, mentoring, evaluation and development of the quality engineers. In addition, the Quality Engineering manager will facilitate problem solving, ensure coordination and communication of corrective and preventive actions, and assist the quality manager in system development and maintenance. The Quality Engineering Manager will also provide means of escalation in support of customer satisfaction, corrective action and quality engineering initiatives such as Eaton Quality Management System, Eaton Zero Defect Process and Quality best practices. Additionally, the incumbent will encourage and support employee participation at all levels in the resolution of product quality problems, implement employee recognition, and promote positive Company-oriented attitudes towards quality assurance and reliability of Eaton Aerospace products.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
• Develop, implement and monitor performance against short and long-range plans to achieve quality engineering objectives.
• Implement short and long-range plans relative to quality assurance.
• Identify needs, and develop the quality engineering function.
• Develop or modify quality procedures, metrics and processes to achieve quality and on time delivery goals.
• Provide direction to ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements and government regulations involving product quality.
• Select and develop competent quality engineers and in plant auditors to ensure quality goals are achieved.
• Provide reports as required and drive corrective action and preventive action for timely and effective completion.
• Assist as required in all technical qualify functions as necessary.
• Assure effective communication and reporting to customers.
• Assure compliance with control phase of quality systems and initiatives such as internal auditing, statistical process control and testing.
• Provide support and leadership to Quality Engineering in new product development.
• Support the development and utilization of quality feedback tools to maintain and implement "lessons learned".
• Support the achievement of Cost of Quality, goals as identified by the Quality Manager.
**Qualifications:**
**BASIC (Required) QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
+ 5 (five)+ years of experience in an aerospace environment
+ 3 (three)+ years in quality supervision or management in aerospace environment.
+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
+ This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
+ No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (90039) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service memeber candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Master’s Degree Preferred
+ ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (MOQ/OE) is preferred.
+ Knowledge of Quality Control systems and techniques, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, including statistical quality control and inspection and investigation techniques.
+ Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including acceptance testing, assembly operations, machining, welding, and measurement systems in an Aerospace environment
+ Demonstrated use of Lean Tools and Six Sigma and problem-solving tools and techniques (8D, A3, 3-Legged 5 Why).
+ Experienced in use of continuous improvement lean manufacturing principles and scrap reduction tools (5S+, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, Standard Work, and Poka-Yoke).
+ Experienced in use of AIAG quality tools to reduce variability and mitigate risk (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC).
+ Strong computer skills including MS Office applications.
+ FAA/FAR knowledge a plus.
+ Ability to write clear, concise, and constructive reports on findings for all levels of management.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
