Purpose Statement: The Quality Manager ensures compliance of customer requirements as well as industry standards and safety in the workplace. Will act as the primary interface with customers on quality related matters, lead activities to improve yield of incoming customer and reduce Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs). Will participate and support regulatory and customer audits as necessary.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve outgoing yield and customer Parts Per Million (PPM) to reduce Cost of Quality in order to deliver customer excellence and achieve Plexus’ enduring goals. Lead analysis of quality metric data and identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework and Clinical Risk Groups (CRGs). Collaborate with the Process and/or Product Engineer to implement improvements. Lead Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) development for repeat or systemic issues and ensure implementation.Build and embed Quality Awareness in Operations by ensuring effectiveness of training and inspections. Coach and develop Quality Engineers and Technicians on tools and technology. Lead and drive quality excellence by working with various functional leads, to ensure quality Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) meets or exceeds manufacturing requirements and standards in order to deliver quality products. Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.Provide technical guidance & communications to Quality Engineers and Technicians by responding effectively to customers' feedback and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs). Will provide follow up with quality metrics set in quality plan as well as prepare Quarterly Operations Review.Education/Experience Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience. A combination of education, experience, and time in field will be taken into consideration, and internal candidates may have distinct requirements tailored to their demonstrated skills and contributions within the organization.Other Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge and implementation experience in applicable QMS standards and regulations (i.e. ISO 9001, AS9100, FDA QSR, TL9000, etc.).Advanced knowledge in applicable industry standards (IPC, J-STD, etc.).Capability to assess, manage, develop, and mentor Quality organization personnel.Advanced knowledge in Lean and Six Sigma concepts and tools.Expert communication and presentation skills.Strong cross-functional team building skills.Physical Requirements:
Role will support operational teams in a manufacturing environment with required personal protective equipment. Facilities include comfortable temperatures, repetitive low noise level and suitable lighting for required tasks. May require walking, standing and sitting, using a computer, and other office equipment. Direct interaction with people and equipment is event driven and will include activities related to inspecting, qualifying, troubleshooting and improving jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing methods using different types of components or material. Role may require working individually on tasks with a prolonged focus on written material, working collectively as part of a team of various disciplines and backgrounds and working in multiple software systems.Travel Requirements:
