Quality Engineer III
I.PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position is responsible for the administration and implementation of continuous improvement in the quality
system. Identify opportunities for process improvement to ensure customer satisfaction. Knowledge of problem
solving tools to eliminate potential problems. Establish first contact with customer for any complaints, and
development countermeasures to prevent recurrences. Support other departments in safety, delivery, and cost.
II.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Root cause analysis: Be able to effectively use the different problems solving tools such as 5why, Fishbone diagram, pareto, 8D’s, Six Sigma, PDCA.
Customer focused: Sense of urgency to provide feedback, implement containment actions, andestablish permanent actions to eliminate customer complaints.
Process Control: Implement process controls that will reduce process variation over all aspectsof production process.
ISO: Be able to lead and manage the ISO standards via the use of work standards, instructions,visual aids. Establish and maintain inspection procedures, sampling test methods, and product
quality assurance in compliance with ISO9001 standards.
Supplier Quality: Direct communication with supplier to control their quality. Implement controls plans for incoming inspection. Process selection of possible suppliers with the use of PPAP's, or customer validation process.Approval of project final quality reports and issue Quality certificates for customer orders.Prepares the internal audit program to verify the effectiveness of the quality system, as well ofthe follow up audits to verify the on time corrective actions on the non-compliance items.
Is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the documentation of the quality systems, updated the internal and external standard and international norms, and coordinates efforts to update the quality system: training, communicating new norms, changes in documentation, etc.Participates in the steering committee in the design of the ISO quality systems, from determining the company’s quality policy, quality objectives, methods to measure the achievement of the objectives related to customer needs.Able to handle a team of quality inspectors and auditors, guidance in prioritization of businessneeds.

Interacts with Thomson, Regal Rexnord Corporate professionals to share best practices and collaborate on various initiatives.Interacts with customers through the Thomson Customer Service (TCS) group as needed to address Quality issues/initiatives.Interacts with Design and Engineering to address any product quality from the customer,manufacturing or new product development.

V.REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Bachelor degree required.
