Belcan is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide onsite support for the G400 production launch at a supplier facility in Mexicali, Mexico. This role is critical in supporting first article inspections, resolving early production issues, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry quality standards.
The consultant will work closely with production and quality teams to inspect assemblies, interpret engineering drawings, manage FAIRs in Net-Inspect, and help close out any turnback"s during the initial build cycle of key nacelle components.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide onsite quality engineering support for first assembly builds of the G400 program, including:
o LH/RH Inlet, Apron, Upper/Lower Fan Cowls, Thrust Reversers
o Associated subassemblies and final assembly
* Submit and close First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in Net-Inspect, including turnback resolution and re-submission.
* Use calipers, micrometers, and Go/No-Go gages to perform physical inspections.
* Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to validate conformance.
* Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to resolve non-conformances and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities.
* Ensure compliance with AS9102, customer specifications, and QMS procedures.
* Participate in daily production support meetings and quality reviews as needed.
Required Qualifications
* Strong working knowledge of AS9102 and First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements
* Proficiency with Net-Inspect or similar FAI software (DISCUS, etc.)
* Experience interpreting technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Hands-on experience with mechanical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gages)
* Familiarity with composite and metallic aerospace assemblies
* Experience supporting on-the-ground production or quality ramp-ups
* Working knowledge of CATIA or 3D model interpretation
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience supporting aerospace production launches
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
* Prior collaboration with cross-border teams or suppliers
