In this position... 

You will work cross-functionally and closely with integrated teams in Manufacturing, Product Development, and Supplier Technical Assistance.  Supervise and lead engine teardown investigations, to identify root causes for customer failures occurring in the field, at our VO customers, and for internal quality concerns.  Attention to detail and organizational skills are key for this role.

You'll have... 

High School Diploma or GED2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering

Bachelor’s degree (mechanical engineering preferred) 5+ years of experience focusing on Quality2+ years of previous Engine Teardown and FMA (failure mode analysis) experienceDemonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives Proven problem-solving ability  Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)Prior experience working with union personnelPrevious automotive and quality analysis experience

Log in engine returnsEnsure engine teardowns are prioritized to 24-hour shot clockPrepare teardown reports for Quality reviews within the plant and in other areas.Schedule and conduct required teardown testingReview teardown findings with manufacturing and PD teamsSupport 8D resolution for quality concernsSupport expedited concern resolution with cross-functional teams including Machining, Production and SuppliersPull part drawing / CAD to check suspect parts against specification.Work with supplier to arrange shipment of defective/suspect parts back to suppliers if needed.Decision making on liability of defect.Supervise and pay hourly techsEnsure Hot run/Teardown area meets 5S complianceSchedule PM maintenance as requiredProvide work plan as needed to support launch activitiesWork Off-shift assignments if/when necessary
