Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer Co-op to join our team.  This role is ideal for current students in their 2nd year or above seeking hands-on experience in aerospace quality within a dynamic and collaborative aerospace organization. 

Working with experienced professionals in the Quality Department ideal candidate will be responsible for working in a safe manner, adhering to all company safety policies, be a champion for safety, responsible for supporting the Quality Department in the plan, coordination, and execution of quality control activities to assure delivery of conforming products that meet all company and customer Quality requirements.

This internship is on-site and can be part-time (20+hours/ week) or full-time, with the schedule determined based on availability and course load.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Works in a safe manner, adheres to safety policies and procedures, and ensures those working in the same area are working safelyAssist in developing SPC and in-process inspection forms for manufacturing operationsDevelop/maintain nonconformance data for metric generation and analysisAssist in root cause evaluations and implementation of corrective actionsPerform reviews of fixturing, dimensional conformance, and documentation of in-process jobsAssist in various continuous improvement efforts throughout the facilitySupport MRB activities as directedCreate presentations to report on current projects to Leadership teamPerforms other duties as required

 

Required Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work as part of a team and independently Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as basic algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Microsoft Office Suite – Particularly Microsoft ExcelDesired experience with pivot tables, VBA, or other coding language

 

Additional Skills:

Familiarity with common inspection tools and their capabilities.Familiarity with reading blueprints and GD&T basics.Technical writing experience (e.g., Work Instructions, Process Procedures, etc.)

 

Required Experience:

Prior experience as a Quality Engineer Co-op/Intern desired but not required.

 

Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting of up to 20 poundsFrequently work near heavy machinery or equipmentDemands of a manufacturing environment
