CTG is seeking to fill a Quality Engineer opening for our client in Houston, TX. Location: Houston, TX Duration: 6 months Duties: Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for applications and systems built with custom technologies. Conduct functional, system integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure system quality and performance. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria. Perform manual and automation testing using industry-standard tools, frameworks, and methodologies. Create, triage, and resolve defects; communicate issues effectively across teams. Utilize BDD/TDD approaches and test accelerators to optimize test efficiency. Analyze test results using analytical and cognitive techniques to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous quality. Provide test status reports and documentation to stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. Skills: Strong knowledge of core testing principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficiency with manual and automation testing tools and frameworks. Experience with BDD/TDD approaches and test accelerators. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to plan testing activities, estimate effort, and identify test environment/data needs. Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively across technical and business teams. Experience: Hands-on experience in functional, system integration, and end-to-end testing. Demonstrated expertise in defect management, including defect creation, triage, and resolution. Prior experience in both manual and automation testing environments. Experience working with custom technologies and large-scale enterprise applications preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
