Quality Engineer
DuPont is currently looking for a Quality Engineer that will serve as the engineering resource for quality improvements pertaining to the manufacture of Vespel® Parts and Shapes at the Pencader site in Newark, DE. The primary function of this job is to provide technical expertise in Quality Assurance and is recognized as a leader in that technology.
Your key responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvement by utilizing statistical tools to identify problems with the manufacture, supply, and inspection of Vespel® productsTranslate customer quality requirements into executable plans that incorporate the development of site capabilitiesCoordinate capability studies and completes Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)Execute and monitor completion of Control PlansComplete Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) for new partsLead resolution of supplier and customer quality issues in a timely manner and implement effective corrective and preventive actionsCoordinate the disposition of parts routed through the Material Review Board (MRB) and lead programs to reduce the number of non-conforming partsConduct internal system and process audits and monitor the corrective action plansLeverage best practices from other Vespel® and DuPont sitesQualifications:
Bachelors (or higher) degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline and minimum of 5 years of experience in the Quality field in an industrial or manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience using Root Cause Analysis to resolve problemsDirect experience with and knowledge of ISO9001, IATF16949, and AS9100 Quality Management systemsEffective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a range of personnelExcellent problem-solving skillsDemonstrated experience in quality auditing, data analysis and use of statistical process controlDemonstrated experience and familiarity with:Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)Control PlansProduction Part Approval Process (PPAP)Knowledge and experience with ISO17025 Quality systemASQ-Quality Engineer CertificationSix Sigma Green Belt (or higher) CertificationSupplier Quality Engineering experienceInterface with customer on quality and technical issuesGD&TThis position requires access to export-controlled technology, technical data or defense services, as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access export-controlled technology, technical data or defense services as authorized pursuant to US regulation or an export authorization obtained by DuPont approved by the controlling US government agency.
