Quality Engineer

We are now seeking to add a Quality Engineer to our business, to play an important role in ensuring quality systems and standards are in place and adhered to in order to maximise customer quality, as well as carrying out project-based actitivies to drive quality improvements across our production operations. 

 

This role will be based on-site at our production facility in Warwick, UK (CV34 6SN).

Job Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer will:

•    Help drive the Quality culture across the business.
•    Support the containment and handling of non-conformities, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented, verified and validated (8D)
•    Mentor and promote the use of problem-solving tools (4-Steps, 8D, Pareto Analysis, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Graphs,5-Why analysis)
•    Ensure the change management process if followed and the required quality tools are used effectively
•    Support coordination and gathering for Customer and supplier PPAPs (Product or process changes, new business or concessions)
•    Review, approve and provide technical support for supplier PPAP submissions within the scope of AIAG manuals for APQP and PPAP in line with Danfoss Business Systems.
•    Support and control the execution and adherence to the QMS processes including conducting of audits where applicable.
•    Support analysis and containment of production or customer related queries to help maintain customer satisfaction and production output.
•    Ensure that the quality control points are established and maintained in the factory and executed according to the Control Plan. (PFMEA, CP, MSA, SPC Capability studies)
•    Participate in the Continuous Improvement process to support the execution of quality related TIP (Tactical Improvement Plan) projects
•    Ensure understanding and compliance with Health and Safety regulations at all times.
•    Ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe manner.
•    Ensure understanding and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements at all times and serve as a role model to others on site.  
•    Ensure understanding of product safety, quality and customer specific requirements and helping that they are met at all times. 
•    Assist where applicable, to ensure that the company maintains all externally accredited 

Background & Skills

We expect the succesful applicant to demonstrate:


•    Relevant qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or similar, along with demonstrable experience within a similar role.
•    Ability to read drawings and understand technical specifications.
•    Strong knowledge of tools such as PPAP, PFMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, Capability Studies, and Manufacturing Processes
•    Previous knowledge or experience of the use of CMM or similar laboratory equipment.
•    In depth knowledge and experience of problem solving.
•    Ability to analyse and report data and/or measurements analysis.
•    Ability to build relationship with stakeholders across all levels, and a proactive approach to tasks.

 

Desirable would be:

•    Previous experience of working in an IATF 16494 environment
•    Previous knowledge and experience of internal auditing
•    Understanding of systems such as One ERP/SAP, and familiarity with LEAN principles and Continuous Improvement tools
•    Knowledge of GD&T
