Quality Engineer
Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description

The role of the Quality Engineer is to provide comprehensive quality assurance support to various stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and internal departments. The position involves developing and maintaining QA procedures, plans, inspection standards, methods, and techniques to ensure product compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and other applicable federal regulations.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure products and processes meet engineering and customer requirements through configuration verification and documentation of quality procedures and test plans.Collect and present quality metrics on key process indicators.Provide on-site quality support to both internal and external customers.Establish and maintain quality procedures and manuals for AS 9110, FAA FAR Part 145, and other regulatory requirements.Serve as the focal point for engineering, customer service support, and operations to investigate and resolve quality issues.Perform product, process, and system audits, verifying root cause analysis and the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.Support the precision equipment calibration department.Review and provide updates on technical data changes as needed.Review training records and product first articles.Implement the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities.Represent quality assurance on new product start-up teams and identify QA requirements.Participate in cross-functional team projects to improve the organization and develop a career path and leadership.Engage in continuous improvement activities of the organization.Approve and conduct surveillance of outside vendors.Provide regular progress reports to the Quality Manager and Corporate QA Department.Essential SkillsA degree in Science or Engineering with 2–5 years of experience in aerospace Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Operations.A Master of Science or Engineering with 1–3 years of experience in aerospace Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Operations.Ability to review engineering documentation and possess technical writing skills.Knowledge of Document Control and Calibration systems.Familiarity with quality management system standards such as AS9100, AS9102, and AS9110.Experience with FAA requirements for conformity documentation as required in Part 145.Self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work independently.Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, and adaptability to business changes.Experience in using Six Sigma or continuous improvement skills like problem-solving and root cause analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsGood communication skills, capable of formal and informal training.Ability to create and deliver presentations using modern media to small and large groups.Experience with special Microsoft applications and programming skills is a plus.Work Environment

This position requires working on-site in a manufacturing environment. The long-term contract-to-hire opportunity involves collaboration with an aerospace and defense customer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
