Job Summary
The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality within the organization. The QE will facilitate organizational compliance with all quality policies and procedures, as well as ensure materials and products comply with applicable regulations, specifications, and customer requirements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
Supplier Quality
Monitor supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), product defects (NCR), and wasteCommunicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teamsServe as back-up to the Supplier Quality Engineer in managing problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conforming productServe as back-up to the Supplier Quality Engineer to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supplyServe as back-up to the Supplier Quality Engineer with supplier performance improvement projects to increase supplier capability; projects may include process/workflow analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 5S and Kaizen eventsManagement Review
Perform quality and performance data analysis; provide to management team to support Business/Management Review meetingsDocument minutes during Business/Management Review MeetingsCorrective/Preventive Action
Lead activities with stakeholders for root cause analysis, FMEA, and other quality and risk management tools to investigate trends and develop corrective and preventive action plansDocument minutes for the CAPA meetingsPerform audits to verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive action plansReview and audit procedures, and performs internal Quality System and quality assurance audits to ensure actions taken are effective while maintaining continued compliance with applicable regulations and standards (ISO9001/AS9100, FAA, DOD)Quality Systems Audits
Lead Quality Systems audits (e.g., escorting auditors)Audit internal processes and procedures to establish compliance to current, applicable requirementsDocument Control
Guide operational departments as needed with technical writing & approvals of QMS documents (e.g., procedures, work instructions, forms)Training
Provide education and guidance as needed to management and staff for Quality Systems processes, quality assurance activities, and compliance with applicable regulations and standardsConduct new hire and ongoing Quality Systems training (ISO9001/AS9100)Additional Job Requirements

Education & Experience
Associate's degree in a technical field; or 2 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experienceBS in management, technical, or related field, or demonstrated relevant and equivalent industry experience preferredMinimum 3-5 years related experience in a quality systems or continuous improvement related capacityStrong knowledge and understanding of FAA conformity/airworthiness regulations and procedures a plusQuality/supplier auditing experience a plusPrevious management experience a plusSkills
