Quality Engenering Leader
**Job Description Summary** Product quality review associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. **Job Description** **Roles and Responsibilities** + Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Quality Engineering team (8 subordinates), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. + Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing and quality processes to ensure a proactive approach to issue resolution and prevention. + Oversee the validation of first samples (FAI) for components and assemblies in cases of new items, process changes, and design modifications. + Ensure robust quality monitoring during production, including internal audits and adherence to aerospace standards. + Ensure that products and services perform according to quality standards and that manufacturing processes are capable and qualified. + Lead efforts to resolve non-conforming parts, manage exception/deviation requests, and oversee repair/rework processes. + Drive root cause analysis, monitor corrective action implementation, and evaluate the effectiveness of solutions. + Act as the primary liaison with R&D and other quality departments (incoming, outgoing, technical, and supplier quality). + Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the Quality Management System and foster a culture of prevention. + Provide comprehensive reporting on quality metrics, team performance, and improvement initiatives. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred. + Proven experience in a leadership role within quality engineering, preferably in aerospace or a related industry.
