Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

🧪 Quality Control Technician – Manufacturing Support

📍 Location: Concord, [Insert State] 🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM (Weekend & OT as needed) 🚫 Note: This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

🎯 Role Purpose

Join a dynamic team where your technical skills will drive process excellence. You’ll execute key quality functions, support production needs, and lead improvement projects that optimize performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.

  🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Assist Quality Engineers with implementing and sustaining ISO 9001 & TL 9000-compliant systems

Investigate process-related issues and support corrective action plans for internal and customer-reported problems

Facilitate training to ensure compliance with quality procedures and product standards

Coordinate customer return investigations including lab work and pre-report documentation

Support production troubleshooting, fiber and coating inspections, and resolution of quality concerns

Conduct Strength Quality Architecture audits across all fiber types and product codes

Lead the Plant Break Source Analysis (BSA) Program: Train staff, certify personnel, perform BSA investigations, and maintain equipment

Manage documentation systems within ETQ and Experiment Planning platforms

Participate in internal/external audits and cross-functional engineering projects

  🎓 Qualifications

 

Required:

 

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (2-year minimum)

2+ years in a related manufacturing role

 

Preferred:

 

Familiarity with fiber processes and equipment

Experience with measurement tools and microscopes (stereo and compound)

Certified or experienced in Break Source Analysis

ISO 9001, TL 9000 exposure preferred

Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification a plus

The range for this position is $57,412.00 - $78,942.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
