As a member of the Quality Department, the Inspector performs product assessments and dimensional measurements on components, turbines, stationary components, control components and generators to capture component conditions. The inspector also performs parts receiving and in process inspections thru out the repair process. The final documentation of compliance to drawing and procedures set for by GE-Vernova.

Our Quality Control / NDE Inspector position is a full-time onsite position at our Chamblee, GA facility. New hires will work our 1st shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET during training. New hires will move to our 2nd shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET after training is complete. Overtime is available but not mandatory. Opportunities to switch shifts is based on business need and customer demand.

Participates in safety training and ensures personal safety as well as safety of co-workersPerforms duties as assigned by Supervisor and LeadmanPerforms inspection on steam, and stationary components within the factory and on site (if assigned to site work)Performs inspection on generator rotors and components within the factory and on site (if assigned to site work)Participates in work force development to develop skills and abilitiesConducts Hardness TestingPerforms Visual InspectionsTakes dimensional measurementsMakes Visual AssessmentsUses Quality Inspection measuring tools identified on skills matrixPerforms necessary steps per Standard and I&T PlansCommunicates clearly and professionally with othersTracks Standard and I&T Plans and supporting QC recordsReleases product for shippingInspection of received parts in shipping and receiving-receipts routingSet up and operate hardness testing for EquotipSet up and operate Faro Arm, and bore scopeGather or perform all work necessary to document I&T Plans; track to completionDemonstrate high quality communication and work skills per Behavioral Skills section of Skills MatrixPerform other functions as assigned

Basic Qualifications(requirements):

High School diploma or GED2+ years of technical experience with a variety of power generating equipment (steam and/or gas turbines)

Desired Qualifications:

Previous Quality control and/or nondestructive inspection experience would be desirableSignification experience working with a variety of machines and components, both Fleet and other OEMsStrong math skills and the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations; (Example: understanding geometry, reading blueprints)Ability to use hand and automated measuring tools of various sizes and complexitiesAbility to work independently and with others under stressful conditionsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions to solve complex problemsAbility to document and follow proper procedures and train others to do so

The pay rate for this position is $27.68 USD per hour.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
