Quality Control Manager - Primoris Heavy Civil

JOB SUMMARY

Primoris Heavy Civil is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager. This role is responsible for managing and performing the daily QC responsibilities of specific projects to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established minimum standards. This role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and working with other in-house staff (e.g.: Project Managers, Project Coordinators etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product regarding project requirements.

JOB DUTIES

Maintain a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the contract, each subcontract and the plans and specifications in order to assist the Project Manager in development of on-site procedures. Assess subcontractors’ capabilities to meet the quality requirements of the project as required. Responsible for the oversight of performance of all inspection and testing activities as defined by the contract. Create, update and maintain project submittal logs and all other project specific quality control reports. Assure that contract obligations for testing and record keeping are being adhered to and maintained. Review drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary. Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents. Provide daily QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work. Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately and are acceptable for use in the project. Oversee quality control testing, inspection and commissioning in adherence with client standards and Company best practices Oversee the control of calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project to include calibration records and ensure that all testing equipment has current calibration records. Review and ensure proper turnover of complete quality control package(s); turnover is maintained, organized and on schedule. Maintain project quality records for the construction phase of the project and quality audit plans, performance and management. Conduct periodic Quality Program training for site supervisory personnel. All other duties as normally required by QA/QC and as required by day-to-day business.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in the construction industry on construction quality control Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques Combination of high school diploma with QC experience and certifications will be considered Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proactive problem solver, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and develop solutions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet. Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
