This position involves building prototypes of new spring, support, mattress, and foundation design concepts. You will test these prototypes against design requirements and document best practices for specification development. The role also includes evaluating current products against existing specifications for quality confirmation and providing project support for advanced development engineers and specialists.
ResponsibilitiesBuild prototypes of new spring and support design concepts.Build prototypes of new mattress and foundation design concepts.Test prototypes to design requirements and document best practices for specification development.Evaluate current product against existing specifications for quality confirmation.Provide project support for advanced development engineers and specialists.Evaluate, test, and document product iterations.Enter various build and test requests as needed.Order, coordinate delivery, receipt, and organization of raw materials needed to support builds.Assist in maintenance of the Lab 6S Program.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.Crosstrain with other lab facilities (New Product Development and Test Service Labs) and provide support as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency in test equipment, schematic creation, Labview, and mechanical design & prototyping.Ability to build and test physical prototypes of springs, mattresses, and foundations.Experience in testing & quality assurance through performance tests against design requirements.Support in lab operations & safety through programs like 6S.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum 2-year technical degree preferred or 3-5 years associated work experience.Required proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.Ability to use SolidWorks is desired.Willingness to work overtime as needed.Work Environment
The role requires working in a lab environment with various testing equipment and tools. You will engage in cross-training with other lab facilities and support lab maintenance programs. The position may require overtime work and necessitates maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.
