Job Description
As a Quality Control Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the laboratory team by assisting in the preparation of materials for testing. You will aid professional and certified individuals in performing various laboratory tests, including receiving and preparing samples, storing and archiving samples, and preparing buffer materials. You will also be responsible for using computerized reports to retrieve and reconcile samples for additional testing.
ResponsibilitiesReceive specimens and supplies, and process and record information received from collection centers.Handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing.Dispose of samples properly into biohazard containers after testing is complete.Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation within the assigned department.Use the laboratory computerized inventory management system to locate, track, and determine the testing status of samples.Assist with monitoring inventory levels for laboratory supplies and notify the supervisor of inventory needs.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Basic computer skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsLaboratory experience or a background in production line work.Skills in laboratory data entry and inspection.Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse environment, specifically within a donor processing and manufacturing facility. The role requires working on the 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM from Sunday to Thursday. The first day orientation is typically from 10 AM to 12 PM. The facility operates with a set shift, ensuring no 'on-call' or STAT labs are required, which is typical in hospital settings. A standard daily operating rhythm is provided for all employees.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.63 - $18.63/hr.
