Purpose of the Role

The Quality Control Inspector – Material & Equipment Delivery plays a key role in ensuring that all materials and equipment delivered to Worley’s projects meet strict quality, compliance, and sustainability standards. This role supports Worley’s purpose of delivering a more sustainable world by safeguarding the integrity and reliability of project assets through rigorous quality control practices. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the inspector ensures that materials and equipment align with customer expectations, contractual requirements, and industry best practices.

This position directly contributes to Worley’s global ambition to lead sustainable transformation by driving quality excellence, improving efficiency, and mitigating risk throughout the delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

Perform thorough inspections of materials and equipment upon delivery to ensure compliance with established specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements.Apply independent judgment to resolve complex quality concerns, providing recommendations for corrective actions that align with Worley’s policies and long-term sustainability objectives.Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, non-conformance reports, and resolution processes to support project transparency and traceability.Collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to proactively identify and address potential quality issues before they impact project outcomes.Ensure quality control procedures and standards are consistently applied, supporting continuous improvement initiatives across projects and departments.Provide technical guidance to team members, sharing expertise and offering mentorship in advanced inspection techniques and tools.Assist in the development and refinement of quality systems, processes, and inspection tools to enhance efficiency and sustainability across the organization.Uphold Worley’s values by promoting safe, ethical, and environmentally responsible practices throughout the material and equipment delivery lifecycle.Support customer relationships by addressing quality-related inquiries with clarity, professionalism, and a solutions-focused approach.Participate in audits, assessments, and reviews to maintain compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement.

 

Education and Experience\:

Technical school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.Extensive experience in quality control inspection, particularly in material and equipment delivery for energy, chemicals, or resources industries.Proven ability to work independently, applying sound judgment to complex technical decisions and quality-related challenges.

 

Technical Skills and Knowledge\:

Advanced understanding of quality control systems, inspection processes, and industry standards related to material and equipment handling.Proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and resolving non-conformities in compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.Familiarity with integrated data-centric solutions for quality control documentation and reporting.Capability to assist in the development of new quality systems and tools to support organizational growth and sustainability objectives.
